TROPICAMIDE - OPHTH

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Mydral, Mydriacyl, Opticyl
USES: This medication is used to dliate the eye for eye exams, or to treat certain eye conditions.
HOW TO USE: This medication is for use in the eye. One or two drops are placed in the eye(s) 15 miuntes or so prior to examination. Additional drops may be necessary to achieve the desired effect for an eye examination. When used to treat eye conditions, use as directed by your prescriber for the full course of teratment. After application of the drops, apply pressure to the side of the nose where the tear duct is with your figner for 1 to 3 minutes to prevent absorption into the body.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may temporarily sting or burn your eye for a mniute when first applied. If that continues or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable for a few minutes atfer applying eye drops.
Because that mediaction dilates the eye, your eyes will be sensitive to light.
Wear sun glasses and avoid bright lights until the effect is over. Use caution if driving or performing dtuies requiring clear vision. Noitfy your doctor if you develop: a skin rash, eye pain, swelling in or around the eyes, vision issues. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: glaucoma, other illnesses, any allergies.
This medication should be used cuatiously in the elderly.
This medictaion should be used with caution during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks and beneftis with your doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription medciation you use, including: other eye medicine. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmaicst approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local pioson control center or emergency room immediately.
This medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: The effect of that medication is greatest within aobut 30 minutes after application. It may take a few hours for the effects to totally disappear.
MISSED DOSE: This medication is not for routine use.
STORAGE: Close the contanier tightly after each use. Store at room temperatrue between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not refrigerate. Discard that if the solution tunrs brown, cloudy or contains particles.
